Zyl |cellulose acetate| first prepared in the late 1800's is a hypoallergenic resin derived from pulverized cotton and tree fibers valued for its soft natural feel and brilliant hues.
The resin begins by adding plasticizers (acetate) to the cotton and tree fiber mash (cellulose) creating a clear pulp, then natural pigments and dyes are slowly mixed in creating the basic building blocks for artisans to cut and arrange into unique patterns, finally the designs are extruded into thin rectangular sheets and cured for skilled craftsmen to carve and heat-form utilitarian articles.
